How to keep kittens warm in winter?

Cats are furry animals, but they are very sensitive to cold. Cats are prone to body temperature imbalance due to cold. So how should we keep cats warm?

1. Wear warm clothes

Cats themselves will grow thick hair, and in winter they will grow down to keep warm. But short-haired cats and hairless cats do not or grow very little down to keep warm, so these cats can wear warm clothes. When choosing clothes for cats, you can choose according to different needs. If you want to take your cat out, you can choose clothes made of warm materials, such as wool or warm soft leather, pure cotton, etc. If you only wear it indoors, just buy thicker clothes.

2. Prepare a warm cat bed

When cats feel cold, they will go to a warmer place at home to avoid the cold and keep warm, because they need to prepare a warm cat nest for them to spend the winter. Place the cat's nest indoors in a sheltered room, and place some warm items such as thick blankets and cushions inside.

3. Electric heater to keep warm

You can also use some heating equipment such as heaters and air conditioners to maintain the indoor temperature and place them where cats often stay. If it is a heater, you should choose one with a stable chassis. If it is pushed over by a cat, will it automatically cut off the power? You can also turn on the air conditioner, but be careful to increase the air humidity to avoid being too dry. If there is heating in the north, just turn on the heating.

4. Increase nutrition

In order to keep the cat warm, you can feed it some protein-containing food, as well as some vitamin-rich carrots and other vegetables. Protein allows them to generate more heat to keep out the cold, while vitamins allow them to improve their resistance, aid digestion, and ensure good health.

5. Things to note

(1) Do not feed raw or cold food and water. It is best to heat it to 27-29 degrees. Otherwise, it is easy to cause gastrointestinal discomfort and illness in cats.

(2) Avoid excessive temperature differences. Cats often go in and out of places with excessive temperature differences and are more likely to get sick due to incompatibility.

(3) When using heating equipment, attention should be paid to controlling the temperature to avoid accidental burns to cats.
